The Lithuania Tribune spoke with Eoin McNamara, PhD Researcher, the University of Tartu. Estonia argues that it is not realistic for a small nation to have a fully professional army for its defence. It sounds that the Latvians think that a conscript army for a small nation like Latvia is not a solution. Lithuania is leaning to the middle solution and planning to reintroduce a conscription, but still keep the professional army. In your opinion, what model of army is a best for a small Baltic nation, we asked Mr. McNamara.
