The Central Electoral Commission (VRK) has announced that nine additional polling stations were set up abroad, in areas home to large Lithuanian communities.

A record number of voters – nearly 500 – registered for voting abroad during the first day of registration for voting in the parliamentary elections due on October 11, Laura Matjosaityte, chair of Lithuania's Central Electoral Commission (CEC), has said.
The Seimas of Lithuania on Tuesday created conditions for the establishment of a special single-member constituency for Lithuanian citizens voting abroad during general elections.
One more parliamentary vote is needed in Lithuania for a special single-member constituency for those voting abroad to be established.
