Statistics Lithuania informs that, at the beginning of 2014, the estimated population of Lithuania stood at 2943.5 thousand, i.e., 28.4 thousand (1 percent) below what it was at the beginning of 2013. In 2005-2013, the population declined by 411.7 thousand, or 12.3 percent.
