Freedom Party’s leader welcomes Seimas committee’s approval of cannabis decriminalisation bill

Freedom Party’s leader Aušrinė Armonaitė, minister of the economy and innovation, is pleased that the Seimas Committee on Legal Affairs has approved amendments to the Criminal Code and the Code on Administrative Offences that would decriminalise possession of small quantities of cannabis.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Armonaitė said the Committee made the right decision as parliament has been debating the issue for two years and since then some legislators have changed their minds in favour of the decriminalisation of cannabis.
