Andrikienė’s MP mandate terminated

On Tuesday, the Central Electoral Commission (VRK) declared the MP mandate of Laima Liucija Andrikienė terminated. The VRK took the decision after the Council of the European Union had confirmed the appointment of the Conservative to serve at the European Court of Auditors.

The vacated MP seat in the Seimas will be taken by Angelė Jakavonytė, daughter of the freedom fighter Juozas Jakavonis-Tigras, who was next on the electoral list of Conservatives. The MP mandate was issued to Jakavonytė by the VRK at the same Tuesday sitting.
