TS-LKD nominates ex-army chief Pocius as chair of parlt defence committee

The Seimas group of the Homeland Union-Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD) has decided to nominate MP Arvydas Pocius, former chief of defence, as chair of the Committee on National Security and Defence (NSGK).

MP Radvilė Morkūnaitė-Mikulėnienė, chair of the group, confirmed the news to ELTA on Thursday.

The nomination is yet to be approved by the NSGK members and the entire Seimas.

The position of the NSGK chairman became vacant after Laurynas Kasčiūnas was appointed national defence minister earlier this week.
