Ruptured gas pipeline in northern Lithuania has been repaired

A gas pipeline in Pasvalys District, northern Lithuania, ruptured on 13 January resulting in a massive fire. It is used to supply gas to northern Lithuania and Latvia. The incident was localised in 4 hours and people were not hurt.

The gas transmission system in the location of the accident consists of two parallel gas pipelines running to Latvia. One of the pipelines was damaged in the incident, while the other was not.
