"Of course, we will unavoidably speak about all those circumstances that might lead to the activation of Article 4. But, again, we have a wider picture in mind, and not only migration but also the situation near Ukraine's border and, of course, that increased activity in Ukraine is definitely causing concern not only for the Ukrainians but for the whole region, including the Baltic states," presidential adviser Asta Skaisgiryte told the public broadcaster LRT on Friday.

The meeting will also touch upon the construction of the physical barrier on the Belarusian border and possible EU funding, as well as changes to the EU's migration policy and repatriation to the countries of origin, she said.

The presidential office reported earlier that the NATO and EC leaders will pay a one-day visit to Lithuania on Sunday.

Almost 4,200 irregular migrants have crossed into Lithuania from Belarus illegally so far this year.

Vilnius accuses the Minsk regime of orchestrating the unprecedented migration influx, calling it "hybrid aggression".

Earlier this month, Lithuania declared a one-month state of emergency on its frontier with Belarus after thousands of migrants gathered on the Belarus side of the border with Poland and made attempts to force their way into the EU.
