Although the president earlier proposed that restrictions on Russians and Belarusians should be identical, yet his proposal was rejected by the ruling coalition.

Nausėda said in the interview that the Lithuanian government would have to return to the issue once again, especially as Wagner mercenaries “armed with Belarusian passports” may emerge at the country’s border.

“I am not fearmongering, I simply suggest to consider the situation we are currently in. Those guys likely have no regard for anything and in the wrong hands could be used for all sorts of bad intentions,” said Nausėda.
