MP in favour of creating sexual offender register

MP Andrius Mazuronis, leader of the Labour Party, is in favour of creating the register of sexual offenders in Lithuania in order to safeguard families and children.

“We [the Labour Party] approve of this of course. People have the right to know who lives nearby and if there are such individuals [sexual offenders], they have the right to know. This register must exist. It seems odd to me that it does not,” Mazuronis told the news radio Žinių radijas on Friday.
