Major increase in Pfizer vaccine deliveries expected in April

Lithuania expects a significant increase in Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine deliveries in April, Aiste Suksta, spokeswoman for the country's Health Minister Arunas Dulkys, told BNS on Thursday.

In her words, an increase of around 40 percent could be expected in April.

"If we now have some 40,000, so we can expect an increase of around 40 percent," she said, adding that these are preliminary figures based on what the producer is now presenting.

Meanwhile, the shipment expected next week should be "very similar" to what was delivered last Monday when Lithuanian received 43,300 vaccine dozes.

A total of 343,000 dozes of the /BioNTech vaccine have been delivered to Lithuania so far, based on the figures of the Health Ministry.

Besides the Pfizer/BioNTech jab, Lithuania is also using the Moderna AstraZeneca vaccines. Lithuania has received a total of 503,105 vaccine dozes so far and has used 437,588 of them.
