Majauskas leaves TS-LKD political group

On Thursday, 8 December, MP Mykolas Majauskas withdrew from the Homeland Union-Lithuanian Christian Democrat (TS-LKD) Political Group in the Seimas, days after he was expelled from the party for supporting value added tax (VAT) amendments that had not been agreed with the Government.

“Yesterday I was asked by the TS-LKD leadership to leave the political group. I realise I cannot force them to love me. Therefore, today I handed in an appropriate [resignation] letter to the chair of the political group. I will continue working as a free, independent representative of the people without depending on any political group or a political community,” Majauskas informed the news agency ELTA in a written statement.
