Lithuania’s security measures are enough, says Nausėda

Lithuania’s security measures in place are sufficient, says President Gitanas Nausėda in response to reports of a convoy of the Wagner private military company recently spotted in Belarus.

However, the situation needs to be monitored closely for any developments, he said.

“The State Defence Council took decisions to increase intelligence forces on the eastern border and to adopt the border guard cover plan before the NATO summit. It is enough today. We will certainly monitor the situation and, if further decisions are needed, we will make sure to take them as soon as possible,” the president told reporters in Brussels on Monday.
