The Lithuanian government on Wednesday extended the nationwide coronavirus lockdown until May 11, but gave the green light for museums, libraries, outdoor cafes, hairdressers and beauty salons, and retail stores in shopping malls to reopen starting Monday.

It also allowed resuming driving and aviation exams, and reopening certain outdoor sports fields, such as golf and tennis courts, and zoos and botanical gardens.

Grocery stores, pharmacies, veterinary pharmacies, opticians and orthopedic stores can reopen even if they are located in shopping malls.

Kiosks will be able to reopen provided that have a separate entrance from the street and serve one customer at a time. The selling of seedlings, plants, seeds and fertilizers in open-air markets will also be allowed starting next week.

The requirement to wear facemasks in public remains in place, except while eating in public eating places.
