"The US businesses highly appreciate Lithuania’s political posture. Value-based, intensive and close transatlantic partnership is also the best guarantee of further development of our business relations," Landsbergis was quoted as saying in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday.

Th US is Lithuania’s strategic partner in many spheres, including ensuring security in the region, cooperating with NATO, developing innovation process and economic business partnerships, Landsbergis pointed out.

"We feel constant political and economic support from our U.S. partners. In the meeting with American entrepreneurs, I highlighted that Lithuania aimed to further increase trade volumes with the U.S., to promote mutual investment, and to strengthen business cooperation, especially in innovative, high value-added economic sectors. The U.S. business delegation will be visiting Lithuania as early as next week," the minister said.

The meeting with the Lithuanian foreign minister was attended by representatives of the following American companies: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Lockheed Martin, Eli Lilly, Bell/Textron, Oshkosh Defense, Sempra Energy, Strategic Staffing Solutions, Exxon Mobil, Moody’s, Motorola Solution.

these companies operate in the sectors of defense, financial services, cybersecurity, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and human resource management. These companies either operate or plan their activities in Lithuania.

The American Lithuanian Business Council will bring a business delegation of American corporate executives to Lithuania on 22 and 23 September.

Earlier this week, Landsbergis also met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. He will also meet with officials of the US White House and attend the German Marshall Fund's event.
