Eight drunken British soldiers detained in resort of Palanga

Eight drunken British soldiers were detained in the Lithuanian seaside resort of Palanga early on Sunday, the Police Department said.

The British soldiers were detained after a brawl broke out among a group of men in the town's central Basanavicius Street at around 5:40 a.m.

A pre-trial investigation into public order violations by two of the solders, who had 1.56 and 2.03 per mille of alcohol in their blood, was opened.

Protocols on administrative violations were drawn up against the other six soldiers, who had between 0.88 and 2.07 per mille of alcohol in their blood.

Further investigation is being conducted by the military police.
