Dissident Antanas Terleckas passes away

Lithuanian dissident Antanas Terleckas passed away on the night of 16 February aged 95. His son confirmed about his father’s passing to the public broadcaster LRT.

Terleckas was born on 9 February 1928 in Krivasalis village, Ignalina district. While studying at a progymnasium in 1945, he was arrested and accused of membership in the underground organisation Geležinis vilkas (Iron Wolf). He was released after a couple of months due to lack of evidence. He moved to Vilnius in 1946 where he studied at Vilnius University Faculty of Economics.
