Data published by Statistics Lithuania indicates that 1,170 people contracted the virus for the first time, 381 for the second time and 6 for the third time.

The total number of confirmed cases in Lithuania has increased to 1,187,213 since the outbreak of the pandemic. Currently, 19,412 people are ill.

The death toll due to COVID-19 stands at 9,211. One fully vaccinated person from the age group 70-79 years died on Tuesday.

The average number of new daily cases in the last 7 days is 1,111. The incidence rate per 100,000 residents in the last 14 days is 534.3. The positive test rate in the last 7 days stands at 50.9%.

On 2 August, 162 people were vaccinated: 31 with the first vaccine dose, 39 with the second dose and 81 with booster shots (third dose).

Fifteen people were hospitalised with COVID-19 yesterday and now 134 hospital beds allocated for coronavirus patients are occupied. Eight people are being treated in intensive care units.

On Tuesday, 296 molecular PCR tests, 2,362 antigen tests and 187 antibody tests were carried out.
