On 7 January, Saturday, the 31st international tribute run the Road of Life and Death took place in Vilnius, with over 6,000 runners from Lithuania and other countries taking part in an event dedicated to the victims of the Soviet aggression against Lithuania on 13 January 1991.

About 3,000 Lithuanian troops and allies were among the runners. A number of soldiers from Ukraine also joined the run intended to commemorate victims who died on 13 January 1991 when the Soviet military stormed Vilnius TV Tower and the Radio and Television Building following the restoration of Lithuania’s independence a year earlier.
