A total of 6,697 flu infections were registered last week, up from 3,399 in the previous week.

The country also saw an increase in the overall number of cold and COVID-19 cases.

Last week, the overall incidence rate for flu, cold and COVID-19 stood at 1,843.5 cases per 100,000 people, compared with 1,577.4 cases a week earlier.

The weekly data comparison shows increases in the numbers of flu and cold cases in recent days and a decrease in new COVID-19 infections.

Last week, the lowest incidence rate for flu, cold and COVID-19 remained in Utena County while the highest was recorded in Kaunas County.

The epidemic level of morbidity, defined as more than 1,500 cases per 100,000 people, has now been reached in 32 municipalities, up from 22 the week before.

Some 156 people with flu were admitted to hospitals in Lithuania last week, including 122 children under 18 and a pregnant woman. Six people were treated in intensive care units, including five children aged 2-17.

First two deaths from flu were also recorded in Lithuania last week.
