A colorful Rainbow Bus trip in Vilnius will mark the opening of the festival, the National LGBT Rights Organization has said.

"Representatives of the LGBT community on the colorful music bus will visit the sponsors and friends of the Baltic Pride 2022 festival, spread a positive atmosphere, and invite Vilnius residents and guests to participate at the Baltic Pride," it said in a press release.

Vladimir Simonko, head of the Lithuanian Gay League, has told BNS that Vilnius will be hosting various events for the LGBTIQ community, such as creative workshops, discussions, exhibitions and other cultural and educational activities, throughout the week.

The festival will culminate with Saturday's March for Equality and Peace from the capital's Bernardine Gardens to the White Bridge where a concert will take place.

Baltic Pride is an annual LGBT festival rotating in turn between the three Baltic capitals. Vilnius is hosting the festival for the fifth time.
