The value of the basket of the cheapest food products in Lithuania went up by 6.48 euros (12.1 percent) in April, from the same month last year, and increased by 0.63 euros (1 percent) over a month, according to the price comparison website pricer.lt.

According to the company, the cheapest product basket remains in the Maxima chain, amounting to 52.62 euros, up by 0.82 euros from March. Norfa came in second with 55.83 euros, up by 0.04 euros, followed by Iki with 58 euros (up 0.04 euros), Lidl with 58.48 euros (up 0.66 euros) and Rimi with 59.55 euros (up 1.04 euros).

The Barbora online shop increased the value of this basket by 2.75 euros to 62.45 euros. And the second online grocery store, e-Rimi, monitored by pricer.lt upped the value of its basket by 0.47 euros to 72.05 euros.

Pricer.lt also says that out of 52 monitored products, 38 went up in price and 14 became cheaper.
