Turkish Airlines to expand at Vilnius Airport: additional flights planned

According to Turkish Airlines Lithuania General Manager Dinçer Eroğlu, the increase in their flights from Vilnius is a reflection of the strong demand they saw since the start of their service in June 2013.

“Our flights operated to and from this beautiful city of Baltics, which we compulsorily took a break for a while due to the pandemic, have been rebounded strongly as the impact of this global challenge has gradually diminished. This increase is an obvious indicator of this. We as Turkish Airlines had a strong year in Vilnius in 2021, and now we will have five more weekly flights,” stated Mr Eroğlu.

He added that the Istanbul based global brand serves the most popular destinations in the Middle East, the Far East, Africa, the Americas, and Europe as the airline that flies to more international destinations than any other in the world. This increased frequency will provide passengers with more convenient departure times, and better connections from Vilnius to more than 330 destinations worldwide via Istanbul. He reassured that Turkish Airlines continues to do its best to satisfy its passengers.

Meanwhile, the acting CEO of Lithuanian Airports, Aurimas Stikliūnas, said that an increase in flights to Vilnius is an outcome of a long-term partnership based on trust and support.

“Turkish Airlines is an essential partner for Lithuanian Airports, so we are working to find the best possible solutions for our passengers. We are constantly looking for opportunities to further improve our flight options with this airline. Therefore, we consider the decision to increase the number of flights to be the result of a long-term partnership based on cooperation,” stated Mr Stikliūnas.

According to him, the route between Vilnius and Istanbul is a key stop for those traveling on connecting flights: especially those traveling outside of Europe. More frequent flights will help to improve the connection with Lithuania and provide greater comfort for passengers.
