The charging stations will be installed at IKI stores and the new IKI headquarters in Vilnius. By the end of this year, there will be at least 20 IKI stores equipped with Inbalance charging stations, both in major cities and smaller towns across Lithuania.

"For the convenience of our customers, we are installing EV charging stations at our stores. This will give them the opportunity to charge their cars while they shop. At the same time, we want to encourage environmentally friendly means of transportation, “says Vaida Budrienė, the Head of Communications at IKI.

“This roll-out will significantly contribute to Lithuania’s public charging network, increasing charging availability both in regions and urban districts. Our joint expansion is an example of effective cooperation,” says Simonas Stankus, CEO of Inbalance.

According to Stankus, this network development will also include innovative technological solutions. Inbalance charging infrastructure will be integrated into stores' building management systems for energy management.

"We have found synergies because both Palink and we are investing heavily in energy optimization innovations that are now critical to sustainable development. In addition, the expansion of charging stations near retail stores and office buildings is systematically building a balanced charging network in the country. Every installation today must be future proof. There will be more and more electric vehicles on the roads, and we have to be ready to scale on demand," he says.

The charging stations under this partnership have already been set up near IKI Karaliaučius in Vilnius, in Kuršėnai and Palanga. A charging station in Bendoriai, on the outskirts of Vilnius, will start charging soon.
