Sheynin and his wife own an apartment of more than 100 square meters in the Baltic Sea resort of Palanga. The mass appraisal value of the property stood at almost 60,000 euros in 2014, but its current value is likely to be much higher, according to the service.

The Center of Registers has placed a freeze on the property, it said.

Sheynin has in the past worked as a senior executive of the Directorate of Social and Journalistic Programs at Russia's Channel One. He currently hosts a talk show on the state-owned channel.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has formally thanked Sheynin for his work in the media.

In addition to Sheynin, Lithuania applies Russia-linked financial sanctions to two legal entities on the sanctions list and eight legal entities linked to sanctioned Russian entities through ownership or control.

More than 10.8 million euros, almost 3.4 million US dollars (3.07 million euros) and over 645,000 rubles (around 7,000 euros) have been frozen in Lithuania so far as a result of the EU financial sanctions on Russia, according to the FCIS.

In addition, more than 46,000 euros have been frozen as a result of sanctions against four Belarus-linked legal entities and one individual.
