Housing loan amount issued in Estonia in January was smallest in recent years

The assets of credit institutions in Estonia totalled 37.9 billion euros in January 2023, which was 0.4% or 160.5 million euros more than in the previous month, but 0.2% or 57.9 million euros less than a year earlier, reports Statistics Estonia.

The stock of deposits at credit institutions was 27.6 billion euros, which was 1.5% or 423.5 million euros less than in the previous month and 2.3% or 642.9 million euros less than a year earlier. Non-resident deposits declined by 361.7 million euros over the year and made up 13.4% of the stock of deposits of credit institutions.
