Electricity price down by 7% on 17-23 October

On 17-23 October, compared with the previous week, electricity prices in Lithuania and Latvia decreased by 7% to 187.63 EUR/MWh and 187.59 EUR/MWh respectively. In Estonia, the price of electricity last week decreased by 3% to 172.33 EUR/MWh.

The average price of electricity on the Nord Pool power market increased by 27% in a week to 84.59 EUR/MWh.
According to independent electricity supplier Elektrum Lietuva, electricity price on the Nord Pool power market increased because of 28% lower power production by wind farms. Whereas in the Baltic States electricity prices decreased moderately as a result of lower fuel prices, especially natural gas.
