Nausėda: European top prosecutor should be empowered to investigate Russia sanctions violations

On Thursday, President Gitanas Nausėda had a meeting with the European Chief Prosecutor Laura Codruța Kövesi where they discussed issues related to accountability for war crimes committed by Russia and the implementation of sanctions, as well as the supervision and transparency of EU funds, the President’s Communication Group said in a press release.

During the meeting, the president stressed the importance of mobilizing the international community to establish a special tribunal to investigate Russia’s atrocities in Ukraine.
