Lithuania's parliamentary Committee on National Security and Defense has decided to overhaul the Law on Lustration ensuring protection of the former KGB agents and providing for exceptions.

The amendments on the publication of the names of former KGB agents in Lithuania, who have voluntarily admitted their past collaboration, will be corrected, Lithuanian Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis says following criticism by the State Security Department.
The Seimas of Lithuania on Thursday backed an initiative by the opposition Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania – Christian Families Alliance to disclose now classified information on former agents of the Soviet KGB who voluntarily admitted their collaboration.
There are no grounds to say that actor Donatas Banionis and conductor Saulius Sondeckis collaborated with the KGB, the Lithuanian Lustration Commission has stated.
