The Lithuanian government on Wednesday banned groups of more than two people in public places, except for family members, prohibited temporary stalls in shopping centers, and recommended that retailers avoid sales promotion events that attract large numbers of shoppers.

Lithuania's outgoing government on Wednesday extended the nationwide lockdown, in place since November 7, until December 17, but allowed people to visit museums and galleries and take part in excursions in small groups as of November 10.
