Lithuania will establish 18 facilities for countermobility measures

As neighbouring Poland is setting up anti-tank barriers at the border with Belarus and Russia’s Kaliningrad Region, Lithuania will create facilities for storing countermobility measures in case they would have to be used to slow down advancing enemies.

“Facilities for countermobility measures will be established. These are locations where countermobility, fortification measures will be concentrated. (&) They will be stored there, whereas areas are foreseen in defence plans where they would have to be placed if needed,” MP Laurynas Kasčiūnas told reporters after Friday’s discussion at the Seimas Committee on National Security and Defence.
