Conservatives aim to win mayoral race in Vilnius

Municipal and mayoral elections take place in Lithuania on 5 March. Members of the Homeland Union-Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD) are hopeful that the party will secure more seats in municipal councils after 2023 elections and that it will be victorious in the mayoral race in Vilnius.

“The Homeland Union won 11 mayoral seats and 274 mandates [in municipal councils] in last elections. The primary goal is to retain what we have and if we add one or more mayors then it will indeed be a good result. In all major cities we hope to garner more votes and win more seats,” said Andrius Vyšniauskas, head of TS-LKD election campaign.
