The Office of the President opposes the idea that the retirement age could be raised to 72 years in Lithuania.
Irena Segalovičienė, chief adviser on economic and social policy to President Gitanas Nausėda, says more attention should be instead paid to extending healthy life years, whereas the pension system must take into account the health of older people and the effectiveness of health policies.
