Šiauliai mayor suspected of abusing his office

Šiauliai City Mayor Artūras Visockas is reportedly facing allegations of abuse of official position seeking material or another personal gain under Article 228(2) of the Criminal Code, the Special Investigation Service (STT) reports.

The allegations follow the STT’s pre-trial investigation into the circumstances of allegedly non-transparent public procurement financed by the European Union (EU) that was carried out by a company managed by the Šiauliai City Municipality, and the collection of sufficient data.
