Nausėda: accession of Western Balkans desirable

President Gintanas Nausėda says that he supports the desire of the Western Balkan countries to join the European Union (EU), but it is important that these countries would be ready to uphold the European policies and values.

“It is important that these countries adhere to certain common commitments and values that the European Union upholds, in particular in the face of this war. It includes very clear support for Ukraine. It includes an alignment with the European common foreign and security policy. And, of course, involvement in the (Russia - ELTA) sanctions mechanism [against Russia – ELTA],” Nausėda said on Tuesday, when visiting Tirana, Albania.
