On Tuesday, 51 migrants tried to access Lithuania illegally from Belarus

On Tuesday, 9 August, Lithuanian border guards stopped 51 migrants at the border as they were attempting to enter Lithuania illegally from Belarus.

Twenty illegal migrants tried to access Latvia from Belarus on Tuesday, whereas Poland did not allow 75 illegal migrants to cross the border from Belarus on Monday.

According to the State Border Guard Service of Lithuania (VSAT), so far this year it prevented 3,894 illegal border crossing attempts from Belarus to Lithuania by migrants. In 2022, the figure stood at 8,106.
