According to the Lithuanian State Border Guard Service, repairs are planned on December 3 from 9.30 a.m. until 11.30 a.m., and also on December 4, 7 and 21 from 9.30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

"It does not mean the checkpoint will not work during all mentioned times. ESO will carry out works at some points within those time frameworks, and at other times, even within the said time, possibilities to cross the border should remain," the SBGS said in a statement.

People who plan to travel to or from Belarus via the Salcininkai checkpoint at that time and cannot change their plans but do not spend more time at the Salcininkai checkpoint are advised to cross the border via the Medininkai international border checkpoint.

Also, the Lavoriskes and Raigardas international border checkpoints are also open on the Belarusian border.

Currently, some 600 vehicles and around 700 people on average cross the Salcininkai border checkpoint in both directions in 24 hours.
