She was selected from four applicants for the job, the ministry said on Tuesday.

Tornau received a doctorate in art criticism from Vilnius Art Academy in 2016. She has worked at the Contemporary Art Centre in the Lithuanian capital since 2007.

She will begin her three-year term as attaché after obtaining security clearance and approval from the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry.
