“Imported cases of COVID-19 in Lithuania have been registered from all continents, except Antarctica, which has not confirmed any cases so far,” the center said in a press release.

Nearly one-third of imported cases – 115 – originated from the United Kingdom. Many infected people also came from Austria (33), Sweden (20) and the United States (18).

Public health experts remind that the first person who tested positive for COVID-19 in Lithuania came from the north of Italy on February 28.

Based on the latest statistics, 1,861 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Lithuania thus far, 202 people are currently ill with COVID-19, and 1,569 are considered to have recovered.

Seventy-nine people have died of COVID-19 in the country so far, and another eleven coronavirus-infected patients have died of other causes.
