Foreigners will not face administrative liability two months after the end of the quarantine, the department said. Decisions on the return of foreigners who could not leave Lithuania through no fault of their own will not be made.

Foreigners with already made decisions on their return and whose terms of voluntary departure ended during the quarantine will have to leave Lithuania by midnight on August 17.

"We would like to pay attention to the fact that foreigners in Lithuania who want to return to their countries of residence can do that but that should be coordinated with institutions in their countries. To have necessary procedures launched, they, first of all, should turn to their embassies of consular establishments in the Republic of Lithuania," the department said.

The department also urged foreigners to take care of health insurance during their stay in Lithuania, and foreigners who changed employment should turn to the Migration Department regarding temporary residence permits as soon as possible.

Lithuania is set to lift the quarantine regime, introduced on March 16, on Wednesday.
