Employees in the construction sector registered 11,100 job vacancies in the first half of 2019, 7.5 percent more than the number of people seeking jobs in the industry.

Some 6,800 job-seekers got employed in the sector, mostly in civil engineering and building construction companies, during the six months, a decline of 6 percent compared with the same period in 2018.

The most sought-after workers include builders, fitters, bricklayers, plasterers, plumbers, welders and electricians.

Employees in the construction sector plan to create 4,800 new jobs this year and next year. The industry's total workforce is forecast to grow by 17.5 percent in 2020 compared with 2019.
