The government plans to transfer 353,774 euros to the Justice Ministry to implement the Supreme Court's ruling to cover damages and litigations costs.
In early June, the court awarded non-pecuniary damages to former judgers, lawyers, prosecutor and other staff who used to work at the Ukmerge court, with 31 lawsuits received in total.
Firefighters collected around three kilos of mercury at the then Ukmerge court in December, 2012 and early 2013, with the mercury concentration inside the building exceeding the norm thousands times.
The victims stated that the state and responsible officials failed to act in time and take necessary action, including the court's timely closure, as people were allowed to continue working there.
Some 40 people were later diagnosed with light-degree chronic mercury poisoning.
The state has already paid out one-off compensations to prosecutors, lawyers, judges, and other court staff.
