Two out of three Lithuanian teams competing in the Dakar rally have successfully finished the race. Benediktas Vanagas and Sebastian Rozwadowski took 26th place with a second Lithuanian team – Antanas Juknevičius and Mindaugas Slapšys finishing 27th.

“Lithuanian teams are there for the whole world to see - this is worth fighting and working for, whether it is in sports, business, [or] social activities to put Lithuania on the world map,” wrote Benediktas Vanagas team‘s General Financing - Autopaslauga by Pitlane spokesman Tomas Vaišvila.

This year's winner in the cars category was French driver Stephane Peterhansel who has taken his 12th Dakar winner‘s trophy.

Unfortunately, Lithuanian Vaidotas Žala and Saulius Jurgelėnas team had to end their race on the tenth stage due to turbine failure.
