Deputy Minister of Welfare and Labour Algirdas Šešelgis estimates that refugee integration in 2016 will require EUR 5.5 million.

According to Jankevičius, the final agreement has been reached only on the resettlement of 255 refugees to Lithuania. When it comes to refugee selection, the focus will be placed on security and possibilities of migrants to get integrated in Lithuania.

According to the deputy interior minister, Italy and Greece will shortly open the so-called hot spots where screening and selection procedures will be performed. Lithuania will visit the hot spots one month after their opening.

The European Union has promised funding of EUR 6,000 per refugee; however, a great share of this aid will be used for the migrant's transportation to host country.
