The official request of exporting dairy products to Hong Kong was submitted in late June.

At the moment, the VMVT and the relevant institution of Hong Kong are harmonising veterinary certificates for exports of Lithuanian pork, beef and eggs.

Last week, Lithuania received a certificate for exporting Lithuanian poultry products to Hong Kong.

As reported, negotiations with specialists from Hong Kong over specific veterinary requirements for poultry and poultry products were launched two years ago.

VMVT Director Jonas Milius said that major Lithuanian food producers have been waiting for the opportunity to export their goods to Hong Kong which is regarded as the gate to the Chinese market.
