Tubis elected Anykščiai mayor after controversial decisions by election watchdog

Kęstutis Tubis of the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union (LVŽS) was elected Anykščiai mayor with 51.86% of support in the second round of elections held on Sunday, the VRK said.

Social Democrat Dainius Žiogelis was a runner-up with 45.75% of the vote.
Tubis said he was happy with the win and expected that his opponents would not be suing the results.
