The Lithuanian Defense Materiel Agency and the Netherlands in November signed a contract for the acquisition of 356 pieces of various second-hand military transport vehicles.

Under the contract, the Dutch military is to deliver 125 Mercedes-Benz GD 290 vehicles to Lithuania by the end of the year, with most of them to be allocated to the National Defense Volunteer Force for state border protection operations.

The total value of the contract is around 6 million euros.

Another 165 Mercedes-Benz GD 290 vehicles, 25 DAF trucks of various modifications and other equipment are to be delivered to the Lithuanian military in two batches next spring and autumn.

The Lithuanian Armed Forces are already using around 400 Mercedes-Benz GD 290 vehicles, also received from the Dutch military, according to the press release.
