Skuodis: payments for transit of goods to Kaliningrad are legal and should continue

Lithuania’s commercial banks that process payments for the transit of Russian goods to Kaliningrad Oblast intend to stop executing payments from Russia as of September, yet Minister of Transport and Communications Marius Skuodis says these payments are legal and banks should continue processing them.

“Payments are happening, payments are possible, payments are legal. The state guarantees that only those goods would be transported, which can be transported based on European regulations and guidance,” Skuodis told reporters in Klaipėda on Friday about EU sanctions on Russian transit.
