58 percent said they were in favor of universal conscription. 49 percent would support universal conscription for young men only, while 9 percent would support universal conscription for both genders.

34 percent were against universal conscription in Lithuania, while 8 percent had no opinion on the matter.

The survey of 1,021 Lithuanian residents aged 18 and over was carried out on May 16-28.

Debates on universal conscription took place during the drafting of the Lithuanian parliamentary parties' agreement on defense. It does not provide for universal conscription as parties failed to agree on it.
