Seimas speaker: MPs’ visit to Taiwan poses no conflict of interests

Seimas Speaker Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen says that she sees no conflict of interests in the fact that a trip of several MPs to Taiwan has been funded by the hosting country. It is a usual practice, and no new practices are needed, she noted.

“I do not see a conflict of interests here. And I would say even more than that – specifically for those members of the Seimas who are going to Taiwan, it should be understood that they are already in favour of cooperating with Taiwan, in favour of expanding relations,” Čmilytė-Nielsen told Žinių radijas on Wednesday.
